Gamboa Experience – Monkey Island

Gamboa is a small town where Gatun Lake meets Chagres River. It was created in 1911 to allocated workers during the construction of the Panama Canal.

In this trip we will navegate part of Gatun Lake until we reach Monkey Island, there will share a nice experience with these fun animals in their natural habitat.

In Monkey Island there are four species of monkeys: cariblancos, tamarins, whitefaces and howlers. In addition, there are more than 300 species of birds that inhabit the island and are commonly studied by local and foreign scientists.

Upon returning, we will make a stop at El Charco Trail, to appreciate more about the rainforest and hike a 0.8 km moderate trail and surrounded by the lush nature that characterizes Gamboa.
